Name

boss schedule — specify when you will kill a boss, for extra rewards

Synopsis

boss schedule list
boss schedule <boss name> <month#>/<day#> <hour>[am or pm]

Description

Dead pools are generally regarded as tasteless, but those who participate can make a killing on gambling on which celebrity will die first. Standing to profit off of your lord's death is a poor idea under feudalism, so many Alyrians restrict their gambling to people who are both well-known and commonly hated- people like bosses!

To participate in a dead pool and bet that a given boss will die within a certain time frame, Adventurers can attempt to schedule a boss' death. Adventurers specify a boss' name and an Earth date and time during which that boss will die. The dead pool has an entrance fee of 5-10k gold, based on the bettor's level (higher classes pay more), multiplied by the specified boss' Boss Category. A level 50 Adventurer betting on Alpheus Winterborn dying would gamble 5,000 gold; a level 241 Adventurer betting on Yourban dying would gamble 50,000. The amount won is double the amount bet.

Once a boss' death has been scheduled, other Adventurers can see bets placed with 'boss schedule list'. If they want to join in on the bet, they can, and anyone meeting the criteria for a payout upon the boss' death during the specified window will be paid. Bosses cannot be scheduled fewer than 2 hours in advance, and if the scheduled window passes without being collected, the entrance fee is forfeited.

Adventurers can place redundant bets on the same boss dying in the same time frame, but only one such bet can get paid out per boss death- therefore each distinct bet (from a given Adventurer) represents one distinct bet on the boss dying. If other Adventurers want to bet on the same result, they can- the only restrictions on a bet paying out is: (1) the boss dies within 2 Earth hours of the specified time, so if the bet was for 8pm, any death between 6pm and 10pm would count; (2) the bettor is in the room at the moment of death; and (3) only one bet is paid out per bettor per death.
