Description
The great Rift at the center of the Sigil Underground, slowly spreading for decades, has polluted more of the Sigil Underground than can possibly be known with its foul, otherworldly magics. The sporefolks' Deathcap Institute has been studying the Incursion for years, and the weirding magics that emerge from it. Magical techniques which were either unknown or technically impossible have suddenly become feasible. The Ilandrama Library welcomes Wrinkled Leccinum, the foremost researcher on the topic, to present his findings. Any Archons willing to see the consequences of their war with the Ithrix are invited to attend. Lecture abstracts are available, but attendance is irreplaceable, as are the Research Notes. Sporefolk researchers have been studying the phenomena long enough to spot dozens of new kinds of magic, and any Archons who wants to learn may do so, adding those studies to their own research notes using the BIND command. Knowledge can be fleeting- after about 30 real hours, the theses granting the knowledge of these new skills will fade, and must be re-obtained. Any Adventurer overwhelmed with knowledge may voluntarily do so after about 20 real hours, before Wrinkled Leccinum. In order to balance the demands of the various lectures and study material, each Adventurer is limited to 1000 study credits per session. Each thesis may be checked out at a base cost of 100, which fluctuates with demand. If a trip to Ilandram Library is inconvenient, Wrinkled Leccinum's shop may be accessed remotely by typing 'read research'.
Research notes may be obtained after gaining the Mark of Abstraction.
