- The Rift at the center of the Sigil Underground has spread for decades, polluting the underground with otherworldly magics.
- The sporefolks' Deathcap Institute studies the Incursion and the weirding magics that emerge from it — techniques that were unknown or impossible until recently.
- The Ilandrama Library hosts Wrinkled Leccinum, foremost researcher on the topic.
- Archons may attend lectures; Research Notes and the BIND command let you add borrowed studies to your own notes.
- Knowledge is fleeting — theses fade after about 30 real hours and must be re-obtained.
