Description

Ship Cargo

Displays the ship's cargo manifest, which shows what cargo is currently stored on the ship. The information shown includes units of cargo listed by resource type as well as the weight of the cargo on the ship. The more and heavier the cargo, the more reduced the ship's top speed may become, or in the case of steam ships, the more fuel you may burn to move the ship.

SHIP CARGO DUMP [] If you need to dump your ship's cargo for whatever reason, you may use the SHIP CARGO DUMP command. This will dump any amount of cargo you specify (or all of that type of cargo, if not specified) into the ocean. Dumped cargo is not retrievable.

Ship Salvage

When a ship that is carrying cargo is destroyed, some of the cargo may be left behind in the form of a large steamer trunk floating in the water, possibly along with other debris left from the destruction. The cargo that is left behind may be salvaged into your ship's holds by using the SHIP SALVAGE command in the same room as the trunk. There must be enough room in your ship's holds to contain the contents of the trunk.

Shop Cargo List

Displays a list of purchasable ship cargo and the default amount the player wishes to purchase from a Trader merchant. This list is displayed in actual units wanted aboard the ship and a cargo buy will calculate according to the amount of an item purchased when buying one unit of the item from a cargo trader.

SHOP CARGO DEFAULT This command sets the maximum number of a material to automatically purchase for a particular ship. The maximum default amount for any single item is 4999. The inventory number is the item's list order number in the shop list at the cargo trader. Set the default number to the number of items the ship should carry in its cargo, ignoring the differences for items that come in packages of more than one unit. Example: A small keg of black powder is item 1 on the shop list. To set a cargo default for this item, enter SHOP CARGO DEFAULT 1 200 to purchase up to 200 of this item for your ship.

Shop Cargo Buy

Purchases all items in the ship cargo list up to the default amount specified. This command will purchase items in the order they appear in the shop's purchasing list. If the ship already has at least as many of an item as specified on the default list, it will not purchase any more of those items. Items purchased cannot exceed the amount or weight limits of a ship's hold and it is up to the player to balance their default cargo amounts accordingly.

Shop cargo manifests are specific to a ship and require a ship's title in hand to manage cargo defaults. Each ship's default cargo list must be set by the ship's captain at a shipyard's resource trader. A ship's default cargo list will be transferred with the ship in the event that it is sold to another player.
