Description

Adventurers in Alyria have the ability to cook various meals which can provide a benefit to those who eat them. Meals are cooked by gathering the ingredients, finding an appropriate cooking tool, (if applicable) and then using the COOK command to produce the final product. For example, 'cook scorpion soup' will, if you have the needed ingredients in your inventory and are in a room containing a cooking cauldron, cook the meal to completion. To cook a specific meal, one of two requirements must be met. You must either already have the mark associated with that meal, or you must be wearing an index card containing the details of that recipe in your hands. If you are using the index card, you must then give the final meal to other players or certain NPCs and have them eat it. Each unique player or NPC that eats a meal that has been cooked by you has a one-time chance (while you are still online) to grant you the associated mark. In the above example, that mark would be scorpion- soup. To obtain an index card and begin your culinary adventures you will first need to obtain the mark of cooking, which is obtained by completing quest 3391. Enter the command QUEST UNDERTAKE 3391 to begin this quest. Follow the quest instructions. When you complete this quest and obtain the mark of cooking, you will be granted a new quest based on the recipe you chose. There are three versions of this quest - one for adventurers able to travel to Lasler, one for Archons, and one for those in between. Using the card will place you on the appropriate quest for your level range. If the quest is lost, using the card again will grant you the quest once more. Once you complete this tutorial quest, you will be given a new index card. This card can be USEd to obtain a new recipe. The recipe this card will receive is not predetermined, it can be any recipe that you do not already have the associated mark for. After it is USEd, the ingredients will appear on the card and you will be able to cook that meal. Feeding other players will have a chance to grant you the mark for this recipe. Once you obtain the mark, the index card may be USEd again and you will obtain a new index card, starting this process over with a new recipe. It is possible for archons to have two different index cards at the same time if you purchase one from a quest master in the Sigil Underground. There are certain NPCs in the world that can possibly grant you a culinary mark if you give them a cooked meal. They are as follows:
