Description
Ships can be steered the standard way, by actively turning the ship's wheel as necessary, but experienced captains know that it's best to lay in a course and let the pilot do their job.
Courses are composed of marks, which are individual points on the map. Marks are added to routes sequentially, and when visited in order can consistently and safely take a ship between narrow straits and treacherous passages.
Captains can add marks to routes by visiting them, via SHIP MARK ADD, or with SHIP MARK COORDINATEADD if they already know the coordinates which they want to mark. In order to remove a mark or route, SHIP MARK REMOVE can do so. Captains who want to share their routes can easily do so via SHIP MARK DUMP, which will permit easy copy/pasting to other captains.
